SAFARI PLANNING
Dates of safari:
Please inform us which dates will fit you best and whether you want to rifle hunt or bow hunt so that we can assist you in
choosing the best dates.
Kindly inform us whether you would like to combine your hunting safari with a photographic safari such as Cape Town or
Kruger National Park, so that we can assist in which dates will work best.
Passports:
Please ensure that your passport is valid for six months after your arrival back in the USA.
Ensure that you have a minimum of three open pages in your passport.
There are no special entry requirements for United States citizens entering South Africa.
Flights to South Africa:
All flights from the United States flying into South Africa fly to OR Tambo International airport.
If you are traveling with firearms and ammunition it is advisable to not fly through Europe.
There are direct flights from Washington Dulles and New York (JFK) to OR Tambo offered by South African Airlines.
There is a direct flight from Atlanta Georgia to OR Tambo airport offered by delta airlines; this is the most popular route.
There also is various flights through Dubai and Qatar by Emirates airlines and Qatar airlines.
There is also various flights through Europe although they are not advisable if you are traveling with firearms since not all European airlines carry firearms and ammunition.
Please email us all of your flight details so that we can be sure to be ready to pick you up at the airport.
Please ensure that you spend good time on the shooting range to ensure that you are ready to shoot from both a bench as well
shooting sticks to help ensure that you will have great success on your hunt. This will also help that you feel good and
comfortable to be ready for the safari.
All clients will be picked up at OR Tambo international airport on their arrival by one of our professional hunters.
Once the client has touched down at OR Tambo airport you will clear customs and then proceed to the baggage carousel to collect your luggage.
Once you get your luggage please proceed to the arrival hall where one of our professional hunters will be waiting for you close to the overhanging electronic flight board. Look for the sign with your name on it.
If you are travelling with a firearm you will not receive it at the baggage carousel.
Once you get your luggage please proceed to the arrival hall where the
professional hunter will accompany you to the SAPS firearm office at the airport
where you will receive your firearm.
Once clients enter through the sliding doors at the arrival hall at OR Tambo airport,
immediately head to your right where a professional hunter will wait for you with a name board with the client's name on it.
Once you leave the airport it will be approximately a 2 hour and 30 minutes
drive to our camp.
Once the hunt has been conducted your professional hunter will take you back to
OR Tambo international airport and will accompany you to your flight gate.

Passport:
If you are traveling with kids under 18 remember their under
bridged birth certificate as well as their valid passport.
Required Documents
When a child travels with both parents.
All kids under 18 will be required to travel with their under bridged birth
certificate along with their valid passports.
When a child travels with a single parent.
If a child under 18 years old travel with one parent they must produce an under bridged certificate, a valid passport in addition to an valid affidavit in which the absent parent gives consent for the child to travel, a court order granting full parental responsibilities or the death certificate of the absent parent.
The affidavit should be no older than 3 months from the date of travel.
When a child under 18 years old travels with a guardian.
They must produce an under bridged birth certificate, valid passports, an affidavit in which the parents gives consent for the child to travel, documentation
stating the person's contact details and residential address & contact details
where the child will be residing.

Deko Safaris 3 main camps is located in a malaria free area and malaria mostly
occurs in northern Limpopo province in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Tanzania,

We do recommend that you take out medical and travel insurance before your departure to South Africa for your own peace of mind.
